Planning for Incapacity; Elder Law

Back to Our Practice

Planning for the possible incapacity of you or a loved one can be a very emotional and complicated process. We will initially meet with our clients to discuss and develop an individualized plan that will be tailored to the specific needs and desires of the client. Developing an individualized plan for our clients usually involves several personal and financial planning tools. Such tools include health care directives, powers of attorney, trusts, wills, appointment of a representative payee, guardianship, conservatorship, use of technology such as direct bill paying, informal case management, and many other methods to protect you, your loved ones, and your assets. At Tomney Law we are familiar with these planning tools and are skilled in using them in assisting families in their overall planning needs. Our philosophy in developing a plan is to use the least restrictive and most cost-effective alternatives for our clients. We are also familiar with numerous resources for our clients including social service agencies, accountants, financial planners and others who can assist with special planning needs.
